Minnesota Republican candidate directory

American Assembly

Spotlighting the Republican candidates stepping up to serve—and giving Minnesotans a clear way to know them, support them and strengthen the movement across every level of government.

Republican candidates only Public sources only Explicit party evidence required
Scope: Local offices and school boards are officially nonpartisan. A local candidate appears here only when a public source explicitly verifies Republican affiliation; issue positions or conservative language alone were not treated as proof. No school-board candidate in the researched CD2-area races met that standard.

Our mission

Minnesota Assembly is a home for what's good.

We stand for kindness, common sense, character, and community, and for the United States of America, the greatest country on earth to call home. This is your directory of the men and women stepping up to serve Minnesota: who they are, what they believe, and the good they're working to do. We tell their stories with honesty and positivity. No attacks, no outrage, no tearing anyone down. Just good neighbors, leading with heart, on a shared mission to turn our state around and build a better Minnesota for all of us.

Kindness. Common sense. Character. Community.

Community spotlight

Jimmy Francis, Mayor of South St. Paul

“I am here to serve.”

South St. Paul has trusted Jimmy Francis to lead City Hall since 2017. His motto, “Forward with Francis,” sums up his approach: steady, service first leadership for the hometown he has served for nearly a decade.

His city holds a special place in our collection. The South St. Paul First City Coin in the gallery below honors the riverfront, the stockyard roots, and the hockey tradition that shaped the community he leads.

Research standard

What is verified

This is a fixed October 11, 2026 research snapshot. Race facts were checked against Minnesota Secretary of State filings and election results, campaign sites, Minnesota legislative biographies, candidate-submitted voter guides and published reporting.

Local races were reviewed separately for explicit Republican evidence: an official party endorsement, the candidate’s own party identification, prior Republican elected office or a reliable biography naming the affiliation. Conservative issue positions alone did not qualify. Campaign websites and social links are included only where the research could connect them confidently to the candidate.
